Focus on Palliation 2026

The Society of Palliative Radiation Oncology (SPRO) is pleased to announce the keynote speaker and final program for our upcoming virtual meeting – “Focus on Palliation 2026” that will take place Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:30 pm EST.  This virtual meeting will be a high-impact program featuring updates and advances in palliative radiotherapy including an oral research presentation completion for awards, a dynamic keynote speaker and opportunities to network and collaborate with physicians interested in palliative radiation therapy.   

The Keynote speaker for the event with be Dr. Raymond Mak from Harvard Medical School, who will be presenting on using AI tools for prognosticating patient outcomes. It is groundbreaking research, which may impact the way we evaluate and treat patients in the future.  Below you will also find the final program, which includes the oral presentation of the 10 highest rated abstracts.

Additionally, meeting participants will be able provide real-time rating and judging for our oral research presentation competition, which features some of the latest palliative radiation research from international researchers.  The top 3 highest rated presenters will receive an award.  

This is a great opportunity for medical students, residents, and attendings physicians of all levels.  2.5 CME credits will be available for the event.
